Insurance FC Outscores Gateway Utd In Benin As NNL Second Round Begins By Admin As the second stanza of the Nigeria National League (NNL) began nationwide, Bendel Insurance FC, on Saturday defeated Gateway Utd FC of Abeokuta to move to the second spot on the log. It was like the Benin arsenal paid back their visitors in the same coin when they broke the deadlock on the dot of 45 minutes, through their defensive midfielder Bright Osah whose header went into the net unhindered shortly before heading into the dressing room for break with confidence. On resumption of the second half, Imade Osarenkhoe and Ojo Tolulope were close to increasing the tally for Insurance but went the other way as Haruna Salifu equalised for Gateway at the 67th minute after beating an offside trap to calmly convert a cross from the left flank, making the scoreline 1-1. It was a shocker though but the Benin Arsenal fought harder and were rewarded ten minutes later with a header from Ojo Tolulope to seal victory for the host. Bendel Insurance proceeded on Mid season break unhappy after succumbing to the struggling Gateway Utd 2-0 at the MKO Abiola International Stadium,Abeokuta about three weeks ago. The 2-0 away loss at Gateway is their worst defeat of this season. Insurance only conceded two goals at Apex Krane but levelled it up to share the spoils with the Deltans.
