Inter Milan beat Sassuolo to edge closer to Serie A title

Inter
Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez led Inter Milan to a comfortable 2-1 win over Sassuolo to open an 11-point gap at the top of the Serie A.  Antonio Conte's side were the better team for the entirety of the match and took the lead after just 10 minutes through Lukaku. The Belgian international burst into the box to get on the end of a whipped-in cross from Ashley Young and scored magnificently from close range into the bottom right corner. The match was devoid of clear chances for long periods, and the hosts doubled their lead halfway through the second half when Lukaku produced a terrific long pass to pick out an unmarked Martinez inside the box. The Argentine had time and space to pick his spot and slammed the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 2-0. The visitors however scored a consolation five minutes from time courtesy of Hamed Traore, who received the ball inside the box, reacted quickly and without any problems stabbed the ball into the top right corner. The win saw Inter move to 71 points, 11 off second-placed AC Milan.
