International Friendly: Mexico Wallop Super Eagles By Sampson Adedeji Mexico senior National Team humiliated Nigeria Super Eagles 4-0 in an international friendly game played in the United States of America, BSNSports.com.ng can report. Mexico started like a house on fire scoring twice in the first five minutes of the international friendly match. Hector Herrera and Rogelio Mori scored one goal each in the second and fourth minutes to unsettle the three-time African champions. The home-based Eagles however, held their own in the remaining 40 minutes as they gradually gain momentum into the game. The three previous friendly matches between the two sides ended in draws with a 2-2 draw in 2007, another 2-2 draw in 2013 and a barren draw in 2014. The match played at the Colliseum in Los Angeles in the United States witnessed Mexico thrashing the Nigeria side 4-0. The Gold cup champions dominated the game from the blast of the whistle and opened the scoring in the first through Hector Herrera after the Nigeria backline failed to clear their from set pieces . Rogelio Funes added the second goal 3 minute later after another defensive error. The North American country continued to control the game and goalkeeper Nwabali who was in goal for Nigeria came to its rescue on numerous ocassions. Herrera completed his brace in the 51st minute of the game and added to the woes of Nigeria with a fine finish. Just as the Nigeria side are working to get a consokatory goal, Jona Santos made the matter worse for as he netted the 4th goal in the 77th minute of the encounter. Mexico netted two goals each half to condemned the Nigeria side to a defeat. The team are expected back in the country on 5th of July according to the plan.
