Head coach of the Nigeria's Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has underlined how vital is the proposed international friendly match against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria will come face to face with 5-time African champion in Austria on Friday as part of preparations for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Despite core of the invited players dropping out due to injury, Rohr still believe that the match need to be taken serious as it will serve as final preparatory game.
"The players are motivated, they want to do well, they did good training sessions and are happy to come together again."
"The last time was at the end of March when we had the two victories against Benin and Lesotho, and now in June we have the last preparation. At the end of June the draw for the AFCON and then in September, October and November we’ll have the world cup qualifiers so this is the last preparation game for the World Cup; it’s very very important.”
“All the players who are here want to do well and to show their best so they can be in the 23-man team for the World Cup.” He said.
