By Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria's D'Tigeress and Landerneau BB of France player, Ezinne Kalu, described playing against national team teammate Evelyn Ahkator as always a tough time, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Born in New Jersey to Nigerian parents, many expected her to trial out for the USA Women’s National Basketball team, but her heart was set on honouring her African roots.
While Speaking to Basketball pundit Kenny Bamidele (IBR 92.5 FM) on Instagram live, Kalu said she alway tried to outsmart Ahkator on most occasions.
"I know it's alway difficult playing against Evelyn Ahkator because I know if I go past her and go for lay up she will definitely block my shot.
"So, anytime I'm playing against her i tried to use my speed, intelligent quotient and energy to outsmart her," she said.
Kalu emerged Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2019 Women Afrobasketball competition in Dakar, Senegal.
