Despite not having an impressive outing in the last two championships he took part in, Nigeria's table tennis star, Aruna Quadri has improved on the latest ITTF ranking, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Quadri has an Olympic outing to forget in Tokyo 2020 and posted not-too-impressive performance at the just concluded ITTF Africa championship in Yaounde, Cameroon.
In the latest rankings released by the world table tennis body, Germany's based Quadri moved up four steps up the ranking ladder to number 15 in the world.
The achievement means he eclipsed the previous African record set by Egyptian rival Omar Assar who rose to number 16 in the world in January 2018.
The Nigeria international lost 1-4 to Assar in the final of the 2021 ITTF African championship.
