ITTF World Championship : Quadri, Abiodun Wins, As Omotayo, Edem Suffer Defeat Sampson Adedeji It was mixed feelings for the Nigeria Table Tennis stars campaigning in the ongoing ITTT World championship in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Wednesday, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The quartet of Aruna Quadri, Bode Abiodun, Olajide Omotayo and Edem Offiong were representing the country in the championship and all of them were in action against their respective opponents. Germany's based Quadri recorded an emphatic 4-0 win over his Belarusian opponent Aleksandr Khanin, the breakdown of the result show his dominance with 12-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-8, 11-5. Abiodun continued the Nigeria prowess with another win against India's Amalial ( 4-3) 11-6, 11-5, 11-5, 8-11, 12-10, 9-8, 6-11. Brazil's Gustavo Tsuboi halted Nigeria dominance by beating Omotayo Olajide 4-0 ( 12-10, 12-10, 11-8, 11-6). Women's single Doo Hooi Keem proved too much for Edem Offiong as she defeated her 4-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-2, 11-4). Meanwhile, bounced back strongly in the mixed doubles as the duo of Abiodun and Edem gifted Nigeria victory over Gonzalez and his pair 3-2 (11-9, 1-11, 11-6, 12-10, 11-4).
