ITTF World Championship: Nigeria Stars Begin Quest For Honours Sampson Adedeji The 2021 International Table Tennis Federation Championship takes off on Tuesday with Nigeria stars eyeing honours, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The Nigeria quartet of Aruna Quadri, Olajide Omotayo, Bode Abiodun and Edem Offiong has arrived in Houston, Texas in the United States for the tournament. Germany's based Quadri will be hoping to surpass the third round he reached in the 2019 edition of the competition and he has been drawn against a tough Belarusian player Aleksandr Khanin who is ranked 152nd. Olajide will also have his hands full when he confronts Brazilian player Gustavo Tsuboi who defeated Aruna in Round 3 of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Abiodun on his part will face India’s Amalraj Anthony while Nigeria’s sole female representative, Edem, will play Hong Kong’s Hoi Kem Doo in the women’s singles first round. The competition will run from Tuesday 23rd to 29th November, 2021.
