ITTF World Championships: Quadri Wins, As Abiodun Crash Out Sampson Adedeji Nigeria's table tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, continued his impressive performance in the ongoing ITTF World Championship in Houston, Texas as he recorded another victory, BSNsports.com.ng can report. In his opening game on Wednesday Quadri defeated Belarusian opponent 4-0 and sent warning signals to everyone participating in the men's singles . The Germany's based player in the early hours of Thursday defeated Brazilian, Victor Ishiy, in the second round 4-2,( 6-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-5, 3-11, 11-7) and secured third round ticket. Meanwhile, his compatriot, Bode Abiodun failed to go beyond the second round as he lost to Croatian Tomislav 4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-8, 11-6). However, it was a good outing for Nigeria in the men's doubles as the duo of Abiodun and Olajide Omotayo combined well to beat their Indian Opponents Anthony and his pair 3-2 ( 8-11, 11-9, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8).
