The Germany's based player in the early hours of Thursday defeated Brazilian, Victor Ishiy, in the second round 4-2,( 6-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-5, 3-11, 11-7) and secured third round ticket. Meanwhile, his compatriot, Bode Abiodun failed to go beyond the second round as he lost to Croatian Tomislav 4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-8, 11-6). However, it was a good outing for Nigeria in the men's doubles as the duo of Abiodun and Olajide Omotayo combined well to beat their Indian Opponents Anthony and his pair 3-2 ( 8-11, 11-9, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8).
