By Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the Ivorian Football Association election, former Coted'ivoire international Yaya Toure has thrown his weight behind former Chelsea star Didier Drogba.
BSN Sports reports that the Ivorian legend lost scandalously in the first round of the election involving ex players last week to utmost surprise of the football lovers around the world.
Just as the final round of the election is getting set, all other ex players including Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Bamba to mention but few have declared support for Drogba with Yaya been the forefront.
" I support Didier Drogba. I want him to win this election.
"Seeing Didier on the chair of the president of the FIF, it would be a pleasure today, we are in the change.
"I am not saying that he will succeed tomorrow or the day after tomorrow! But if he is elected he will have 4 years to help, to bring his expertise.
"Because I think Drogba took courses to manage a Federation, to manage a club. People have to give him a chance.
Today, there is a person like Didier who knows a lot, a lot of people, who has a well-supplied address book. It can settle a lot of situations. ”
“ It's been 10 or 12 years since we left Côte d'Ivoire, but things are still the same.
And the idea of bringing Didier there (to the presidency of the FIF) is a very good thing.
"I want all players to support it. It is true that things have been said and that people have their opinion and everyone is free to think what they want to think," he concluded.
