Ivory Coast National Stadium Wears New Look Ahead Of AFCON 2023

Ahead of 2023 Africa Cup Nations which will commence on June/July in Ivory Coast, works on the pitch of the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium, which is also known as the Ivory Coast National Stadium has been completed, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The stadium was banned by CAF for not meeting the required standard to host an international match after it inauguration in October 2020. The Stadium hosted it first international match when Ivory Coast hosted Cameroon on September 2021 in Group D of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Built on 20 hectares, the new Olympic stadium is a building immersed in magnificent greenery. It is 61 meters high over three levels and can accommodate up to 60,000 spectators. It took almost four years of construction to be completed. It lies in the Anyama zone, on the northern outskirts of the Ivorian economic capital and the stadium is part of the development plan of Ebimpe city. With a capacity of more than 60,000 seats, the stadium is considered one of the biggest and most modern stadiums in Africa. The stadium is expected to host the opening ceremony and final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
