Iwobi Reveals How Wenger Decided Best Position For Him

Alex Iwobi, now an Everton player has praised his former club Arsenal for always giving young and promising players in the academy a chance to prove themselves.

He praised former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger for always believing in him and defining his position. Alex has the quality to play as a full back. He did that against Manchester United last season, and can also play as a center forward or false 9. He can play from both wings. But it looks like his best position is from the middle as a number 10, all thanks to Arsene Wenger who helped him discover that.

The Nigerian international said: "That's why from say 18 onward to like 21 he would have me playing in different positions across the midfield and I had to play upfront as well a couple of times because he didn't know what position was best suited for me.
"But then he (Wenger) said because of my style of play, I'll be number 10 on the left coming inside because ever since the day I trained with the first team, he just admired the fact that I'm able to get the ball, turned and played forward and my first thoughts was always forward so that's something that he's always been proud of me for doing."

Iwobi has struggled so far for game time in his current club, Everton. With signings like Alan, James Rodriguez, and the presence of Sigurdson, Iwobi has to do more to break into the starting 11.
