Iwobi Subbed On As Man City Thump Everton 3-0

Iwobi

Alex Iwobi was in action for Everton but could not help them end their winless run, as they lost 3-0 to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Alex Iwobi started on the bench but was introduced seventeen minutes into the game as a replacement for Demarai Gray, who couldn't continue due to injury.

Manchester City piled on the pressure in the opening forty five minutes and it eventually paid off just before the break as Raheem Sterling applied a first-time finish after a pass from Cancelo with the outside of his right boot.

In the 55th minute City doubled their lead through Rodri who hammered a rocket from 25 yards out after running onto the loose ball.

And with four minutes left City got their third after Bernardo Silva poked home Cole Palmer’s deflected shot past Jordan Pickford to wrap up the match.

Iwobi has managed just one goal in the top flight so far this season and his other strike was against Huddersfield Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup back in August.
