Rivers United continued their unbeaten run in the ongoing 2018/2019 Nigeria professional football league season as they defeated Remo Stars 1-0.

In one of the rescheduled match played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, the Sky Blue boys nearly shocked the home crowd in the early minutes as they dominated the proceedings.

But Rivers United who is yet to lose a game in the ongoing season later took over the game and pegged back attackers led by Victor Mbaoma.

The home side pressed hard in the second half of the game but Remo stars frustrated all their efforts as they kept close at the rear.

But Remo was about celebrate a point secured, former youth international Wasiu Jimoh broke the deadlock in the 90+5 to send home crowd into rapturous moment.

The victory elevated Rivers United to the top of their group having won two games and drawn two.
