Joe Aribo Cleared From All Speculation Of Coronavirus Infection

Joe
Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Aribo has been cleared of all speculation that he had contracted coronavirus, as The Gers’ coach, Steven Gerrard affirmed that the youngster is fit for selection in Sunday’s Scottish League Cup fixture against Falkirk, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The former Charlton Athletic of England sensation was not involved in Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday night at Ibrox Stadium, thereby raising speculation of another setback for the Super Eagles’ rookie, who has also been riddled with a spate of injuries this season. Aribo, who has scored four goals for Rangers across all competitions this season, has only featured in 11 games due to injury problems and, though Gerrard admitted that the midfielder faced a stomach complaint during the week, he insists the lad’s unavailability for the Europa League encounter was not due to COVID-19. He added that Aribo has now overcome what he called a slight illness and the lad from Ondo State is now is expected back in training on Saturday, in order to play himself into contention for a part of the squad that will line out against The Bairns on Sunday. Gerrard expatiated: “Joe Aribo is better today and hopeful he arrives back into training tomorrow He was unwell. He had a stomach complaint last night. The plan was for Joe to be involved; he’s had a stomach complaint. “He’ll be getting some checks and assessing him, hopefully, he will be available for the weekend. It’s important to say it is not Covid-related. He was negative on his test before people start putting two and two together.”
