Joel Obi Switch To Another Italian Club By Sampson Adedeji Ahead of the new Italia Serie A season, newly promoted club Salernitana continued to strengthen their for life in the elite division, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. The club on Wednesday evening completed the signing of the Nigerian on a year deal. Obi spent last season in the seria B with Verona and was able to help the club stay up in the division. Salernitana finished second in Serie B last season, behind title winners Empoli, securing promotion to the Serie A via the play-off victory over Venezia. Obi had long been linked with Salernitana after his contract with Chievo expired, but some issues emerged in negotiations. The matter was amicably resolved and Obi officially signed for Salernitana today. It is a one-year deal with option to extend, which becomes automatic if they stay in Serie A.
