Ewa who won gold medal for Akwa Ibom state at the just-concluded National Sports Festival in Edo told BSN Sports that she's optimistic ahead of the competition adding that none of the participants could stand as a threat to becoming the best in the oncoming Olympics ticket tourney in Dakar. "I'm really confident because this championship is meant for Africans and I have trained to do better." Ewa told BSN Sports She added, "I don't have any threat in the competition. None of the 146 athletes could stand on my way to the final. I have in the past fight against most of them." Ewa will also be competing at the World championship coming up in June. Meanwhile, the African tourney in Senegal holds from 20th to 23rd May and 146 athletes across all African countries will participate. Ewa had picked the Olympic ticket but she must also participate in the African and World events as the two championships will be used in rating those in her weight category and that may hamper her ticket if there's a better performance in her weight category while she fails to participate.
