The club of Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Junior Ajayi in the Egyptian premier league Al Ahly have decided to part ways with their manager Martin Lasarte, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Egyptian champion decided to fire the Uruguayan on Sunday after a poor start to the season.

Al-Ahly who clinched domestic double last season were defeated in the Egyptian cup round of 16 on Friday by Pyramids FC.

Lasarte was hired in February to replace Frenchman Patrice Carteron and guided the club to another league win.

Ajayi was instrumental in Al-Ahly winning the double before he was injured.
