Jupiler League: Dessers Misses Penalty As Genk Suffer defeat

It was a day to forget for Nigeria's Super Eagles and Genk striker Cyril Dessers has he missed penalty in a Genk 1-2 defeat to visiting Club Brugge, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

It was the visitors who took the lead halfway through the first half, Hans Vanaken headed right from a cross by another Nigeria player, Emmanuel Dennis 0-1, shortly after the break.

Dessers has an excellent opportunity to level the score from the spot but squander it and later hit the bar.

Fifteen minutes later, Genk got another spot kick and it was Théo Bongonda who took the responsibility and made it 1-1.

Yet it still went wrong for Genk, in the 83rd minute Bruges struck again, Eighteen-year-old Youssouph Badji netted the winner m from a corner kick .

Dessers' miss turned out to be such an expensive one, because Genk failed to level the scoreline thereby suffering first defeat in the season.
