Jupiler League: Nigeria Striker Bags An Assist As Genk Opens League Campaign With A Draw

It's not the kind of start KRC Genk would've loved to have but a shared point in their first game of the Belgium Jupiler League is not a bad results, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Paul Onuachu started the encounter for Genk but couldn't find the back of the net till he was replaced by Cyriel Dessers and it was the later who popped up in the second minute of added time to set up Theo Bongonda for Genk's equaliser having fallen behind to Standard Liege in the 69th minute through Konstantinos Laifis.
Onuachu before his substitution was twice denied by Standard Liege goal keeper before missing a big scoring chance. The coach then decided to take him off for fellow countryman, Cyriel Dessers in the 62nd minute.
Both Nigerian strikers joined Genk last season but it was all about Onuachu who bagged 33 goals in 35 league games and 35 in 45 appearances in all competitions and with speculations surrounding his future at the club, Dessers has shown right from preseason that he's got what it takes to fit into the shoe of his fellow countryman should be depart Genk.
