Kano Pillars on Thursday defeated Calabar Rovers 4-2 on penalties to pick the 2019 Aiteo Cup ticket after a 1-1 draw at the Aper Aku stadium, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The 'Sai Masu Gida' are in the final of Aiteo Cup for the second consecutive time. The four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions lost the title to Rangers International last season on penalties after a 3-3 draw.

In the first semifinal decided at the Agege Stadium on Thursday, Niger Tornadoes outscored Rivers United 2-1.

The semifinal results means the world will witness Northern derby Aiteo Cup final in 2019.

The final date is yet to be announced by the organizer but an unconfimed source told www.bsnsports.com.ng that the date and venue will be known soon while the final match will be played after the ongoing 2019 CAF African Nations Cup in Egypt.
