Kano Pillars, Safety Babes Confident of Retaining Prudent Energy Handball Premier League Phase 2

The Prudent Energy Handball Premier League will begin in earnest on Saturday morning at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.

According to a statement released by Cosmos Chukwuemeka Akisi, personal assistant to the president Handball Federation of Nigeria, in the male category, De Defenders will play Kada Stars bright and early by 7am in what will set the pace for matches in the second phase of the league while COAS Shooters will hope to shoot down league leader Kano Pillars in what promises to be an epic match.

Sokoto Rima will slug it out against Bornu Spiders while Safety Shooters will hope to get back into reckoning as they play Owena Kings.

Other matches will see home team Lagos Seasiders make their fans happy as they hope to defeat Prison Key Boys while Plateau Vipers will play defending champion Niger United.

In the female category, league leader Safety Babe will hope to continue their phase one form as they play Abia Valliants while Edo Dynamos will play Desert Queens.

Home side Seasider Babes will play Akure based Owena Queens while Defender Babes will play defending champions Plateau Peacocks.

Other games in the female category will see slug it out against Owerri based Imo Grasshoppers while Safety Babes will play against Ghanaian champion, Ghana Police Force in a non scoring contest that will bring out the ever present rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana.

Meanwhile, the president of Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Samuel Ocheho has praised the sponsors once again for identifying the top flight handball league.
