KANO TO HOST INTERNATIONAL HORSE RACING COMPETITION.

Kano Turf club on Monday disclosed that, the state will play host to an annual International Horse Racing with the title “Sukuwa”.
The chairman of the turf club, Tajudeen Dantata, said, the forth coming gigantic annual Kano horse racing competition would conform with set out international standards.
According to him, renovation works has commenced at the Kano Race Course with the intent to upgrade the facility to comply with laid down international standard.
Dantata made the disclosure, when the newly elected executive members of Kano turf club, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive chairman, Kano state Sports Commission, KSSC, Ibrahim Galadima, Dantata appealed to the commission to grant the club the permission to embark on the construction of a club secretariat, “ and the permission to minimize the number of entry gates into Kano Race Course and car parks, for the purpose of maximum security.” He said.
He noted that, the turf club is willing to partner with the sports commission, to develop new sports facilities on Kano Race Course grounds, disclosing that, the new facilities would include a mini sports centre, gymnasium hall and recreation centre.
Dantata also appealed to the state sports commission to permit the construction of stables, in and around Kano Race Course, noting that, the construction of stables, he said, if permitted would ease the hardship faced, in the management of horses.
