Katsina United seek first away points at Enyimba

By Admin

Katsina United will battle highly-rated Enyimba in an NPFL matchday 10 fixture at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba tomorrow.

'The Changi Boys', who are still disappointed over the 2-0 defeat suffered in the hands of Sunshine Stars in their last NPFL tie in Akure, will face yet another tough road trip and this time against the most successful club in Nigeria.

The vital away point picked by ‘The People's Elephant at Niger Tornadoes in the last match will serve as the necessary tonic going to this tie.

Katsina United will go to this tie with the hope of picking their first point on the road, while Enyimba will hope to make it three straight games without a loss.

Team News

Destiny Ashadi is in line to return to full action against the team who fought so hard to sign him during the off-season transfer window after recovering fully from a groin injury that has kept him out of action for the past three weeks

Niger goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda, who sustained a twisted ankle injury against Niger Tornadoes in the NPFL Matchday 4 in Katsina, will not take part in this game as he continues to recuperate.

Joshua Agboola, who is presently at the Nigeria U23 camp in Abuja and Tsawanya Samuel will also not be part of Wednesday clash due to suspension following the red cards picked up last week in Akure against Sunshine Stars.

Previous Meetings

Both teams have met three times in the NPFL.

The first meeting at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium ended 2 - 1 in favour of the hosts, while the reversed fixture ended 1 - 0 in favour of Enyimba in Calabar in the 2016/2017 season

In the 2017/2018 season, 'The Changi Boys' showed their dominance over Enyimba once again at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina by winning 2 - 0 and the reversed fixture was cancelled owing to the indefinite suspension of the league by the LMC

League Standings

Katsina United are fourth on the league table despite losing 2 - 0 to Sunshine Stars last week with nine points from five games, while Enyimba occupy third position with 11 points picked after eight games.
