Leicester City of England attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho could become the next Nigerian player to star for RB Leipzig of Germany, as reports out of Deutschland indicate that the Red Bull-sponsored team are keen on a deal with him.
BSNSports.com.ng gathered, with ‘Kelele’ now finding the going tough for himself in search of regular playing time at King Power Stadium, the onus could be on him to accept a move outside England, and Leipzig appear ready to welcome him.
The former East German side recently had Nigerian-born winger, Ademola Lookman on their cards, first in a loan deal and then a full transfer, before allowing him join his current club, Fulham of England in a temporary agreement, but they appear ready to sell him to The Cottagers.
That could create room for Iheanacho to step in, and a report by German daily, Bild indicates that the former Columbus Crew of America and Manchester City of England left-footer is among several strikers on the German Bundesliga club’s wishlist.
The report adds: “Leipzig have identified three targets – Iheanacho, Divock Origi and Kasper Dolberg. Leipzig, who are in second place in the Bundesliga, desperately want a striker on loan.
“The three players feature for Leicester City, Liverpool and OGC Nice respectively and they are not enjoying regular game time.
“Iheanacho has made only 10 appearances and yet to score in the Premier League in a season when Jamie Vardy even at the ripe old age of 34 is still firing in the goals.”
