Kelechi Kalu Ripe Enough To Play For Nigeria.... Ezichi Kalu By Niyi Busari In the time past Nigeria has lost many players to other nations around the world. Many of those we admire when they shone like a million stars in another country's jersy. An opportunity has presented itself again which we cannot afford to miss, and if we do, i am afraid we may have to bite our fingers when we see Kelechi Kalu playing for Canada where he is currently plying his trade. Yes, the name might not ring a bell in many Nigerians' ear but the former Arsenal and Chelsea U-12 player has what it takes to be ranked among the best attacking midfielder in the world soon. The Abia state born midfielder is currently playing for Mississauga FC, a Division One league team in Canada where he has contributed to the club progress since he joined the highly ranked football club. His marking, ball distribution and goal scoring abilities attracted Canada Football Association that forced them extending an invitation to play for their national team. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja, the proud father of Kelechi Kalu, Mr Ezichi Kalu assures Nigerians that his son will be proud to play for his fatherland. "Despite pressure from Canadian Football governing body to convince him to play for Canada, i am assuring Nigerians that he will play for Nigeria national team and not Canada. I have stated this several times that wearing Nigeria national colour is a pride for the family. Therefore, under no circumstances will he play for other country other than Nigeria." Former Nigerian Defense Academy FC players stated. "Kelechi Kalu rising to stardom is not unconnected to his training background at Chelsea and Arsenal U-12 a couple of years ago where he learnt the basic rudiment of fooball." He concluded.
