Kenya Pip Namibia To Lift Kwibuka T20 Trophy Akanimo Kufre Kenyan girls on Saturday 12 June 2021 at Gahanga Cricket Stadium dented Namibia's nearly 100% clean sheet as they won by 7 wickets and 54 balls left. Kenya at the round robin stage of the competition fell to Namibia who won by 37 runs. Namibia's Sune Wittmann scored 39 runs while her partner Adri van der Merwe played 33runs. Though it unexpected win for Kenya in 2021, the team has however had the history of most wins in the commemorative tournament since it's inception. Nigerian Habib Enesi was the main Umpire for the final and was assisted by Vicky Prajapati of Rwanda. In the 3rd place match on same day, host Rwanda defeated Nigeria by 8 runs as Nigerian girls tried hard to reach Rwanda's 112 runs. Nigeria Female Cricket team needed only 113 runs to grab the tournament 3rd place but failed as they scored 104 runs only. Nigeria's captain Samantha Agazuma did not play as she was injured in first semifinals match. Kehinde Abdulquadri took the shine as she scored Nigeria's highest runs of 31, Blessing Etim scored 25 while Salome Sunday was dismissed by a catch from Rwandan captain Sarah Uwerah. Sarah Uwerah reacting to the Kwibuka T20 Tournament call on African leaders to demonstrate love and pursue goals that will lift Africans. "Young people and African leaders should love each other and bring something that rise Africa higher level like other continents. It has ruined everything good that Rwanda had achieved at that moment. But we managed to rise and love each other again.
