Kevin Akpoguma guides his German Bundesliga club to hard-fought 1-0 away league victory

    Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, Kevin Akpoguma was in action yesterday for his German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in their 25th league game of the season against FC Koln at the Rhein Energie Stadion, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Nigerian star was handed a role to play in his team's starting XI following his outstanding delivery for the club in the previous game and he was able to impress as he played significant roles in the hard-fought victory away from home. Kevin Akpoguma was solid at the heart of the defence line as he used his vast experience to help his team keep a vital clean sheet and also sealed the whole maximum three points that placed them at the 4th spot on the table. The game was such a balanced one in the first half with nothing separating the two sides going into the half time break which ended goalless draw. The tempo of the game got more heated up in the second half as they both put up some more dazzling displays but none was able to found the back of the net until the 61st minute, when the visitor got the opener with a powerful header from Stefan Posch to make it one nil. After every other attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful as it ended one nil at full time. Hoffenheim with the result of the night now sit at the 4th spot on the table with 43 points in 25 games played and as such be hoping to keep the winning streaks going in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition. Kevin Akpoguma will also be looking forward to continuing his impressive run of form for his team in their subsequent games to keep helping them in their pursuit in the current campaign.
