Kingsley Ehizibue Sent Into Transfer Market By FC Cologne Of Germany

Kingsley
Former Super Eagles invitee, Kingsley Ehizibue has been sent club hunting in the transfer market by FC Cologne of Germany, as he has been declared surplus to requirements by the German Bundesliga side, 18 months after joining them from PEC Zwolle of Holland. BSNSports.com.ng gathered that this comes after the 25-year-old defender lost his place in Cologne’s starting lineup, as he has achieved a single start and three appearances off the bench in the last ten Bundesliga games, during which he logged only 74 minutes action all together. Consequently, Cologne are ready to part company with Ehizibue in the January transfer window and he has already been cut from their roster, but the exit will only be confirmed if they receive the right offer from an interested club. This is in contrast with previous heroics trailing Ehizibue, when he caught the eye during his first season with The Billy Goats and was rewarded with a call-up by Nigeria’s coach, Gernot Rohr for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone last March but the games were later on postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although Ehizibue’s contract with Cologne was meant to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season, a report by popular German newspaper, Bild revealed that the former Netherlands youth international is among six players transfer-listed by Cologne due to a decline in his form.
