Kogi United survived late scare to earn a point after Ibrahim Enesi canceled out Joseph Onoja's 2nd-minute goal as the first 2019 NNL Super 8 first match ended in stalemate, BSN Sports reports.

Gombe United forward, Onoja's solo run that left the opponent defence helpless led to the early goal that put Gombe ahead.

Both sides created lot of scoring opportunities but were unable to convert them into goals before the center referee

Ibrahim Enesi cool finish in the 62nd minute when he blasted home a shot past Gombe United goalkeeper Adeyinka into his near post for an equalizer before the center referee, Sunny Atu signaled for the end of the first half.

Both sides recorded series of a poor finish in front of goal, though both teams were denied glaring penalty calls but the center referee, Sunny waved for the continuation of the game in each of such occasion, however, the scoreline remained 1-1 at the end of the proceedings.

The tournament continues as Bendel Insurance face Delta Force by 2:00 pm at the Enyimba International stadium, Aba.
