Kuwait SC axe ex-Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi

Former Chelsea star Mikel Obi has been axed by his Arab club side Kuwait SC, BSNSports.com.ng reports. In an official statement on the club official Twitter handle, the Kuwaiti club announced: “Termination of the contract of the Nigerian John Obi Mikel”. No reasons were given for this termination, but Kuwait SC have undergone several changes recently as they aim to reclaim the country’s league championship. According to report, the league in the oil-rich kingdom is yet to commence. Former Super Eagles captain Mikel signed a lucrative contract reportedly worth two Million Dollars a year, which supposed to be a year’s deal with an option for an additional year.
