Kwara United To Start NPFL In Matchday 8 Vs Heartland

Kwara United FC are not going to start their Nigeria Professional Football League this weekend as many football fans expected.

The Harmony Boys will commence their campaign after acquiring Delta Force slot, in the 2019/20 season in week 8 in a home match against Heartland on December 11, according to a report.

A reliable source at the League Management Company’s office, confirmed to exclusivenews.com that the period is to enable the Afonja Warriors formalize all registration formalities at the LMC office, and complete all take over procedures.

In a release in Abuja on Friday, the League Management Company (LMC) confirmed the receipt of a notification from Delta Force FC for endorsement and approval, of transfer of ownership of the club to Kwara United pursuant to the NPFL Framework and Regulations.

The LMC said they will review if all these applications met the minimum relevant rules, regulations and procedure for acquisition, change of ownership and name in the NPFL Framework and Rules of LMC.

They also confirmed the receipt of an application from Kwara Utd FC for Change of venue and name of Delta Force FC.

The LMC further said that the review would also evaluate the validly of the reasons advanced by Delta Force FC in relinquishing the ownership of the club to ascertain that it serves the overall interest of the League and to ensure that the rights and privileges of the players and technical personnel of the clubs are protected.

The LMC stated that pending the determination of the processes that Delta Force FC remains the name on NPFL official fixtures and the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba remains the registered home ground.

Meanwhile, in order to ensure that the team remain secured in the league before its final take over, the management of Kwara United has seconded its Head Coach Abdullahi Biffo to the Delta state outfit. Biffo will be on the technical bench in the double away match against Nasarawa United this weekend and Kano Pillars next weekend.
