Kwese Premier League Final 8 Update By Admin Gombe Bulls beat Bauchi Nets 66-64. 2017 Kwese Premier League runners up, Gombe Bulls defeated Savannah Conference rival club, Bauchi Nets 66-64 to shake off Wednesday's defeat in the hands of Atlantic Conference runners up team, Hoops & Read. The victory moved the Bulls closer to a semi final berth as they have won two and lost one, out of three games played so far. In the first game of the Day 3 of the Kwese Premier League Final 8, taking place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, Gombe Bulls won all the four quarters of the game at 21-8, 36-32, 54-46 and 66-64, with Ibe Agu emerging as the star player of the Bulls as he netted 21 points to give his team a boost to win the game. Bauchi Nets' Liman Lesu made 22 points, but this wasn't enough to help the Bauchi team escape defeat. Gombe Bulls' biggest lead in the game was 11points, as the lead changed four times and the two teams tied 4 times before the Coach Abdulrahman Mohammed-tutored Gombe broke away and never looked back. Gombe had the biggest points from turnovers at 11points as against Bauchi Nets 3. The Bulls also had 11points from fast break, as against Bauchi's 2 points. With this two points victory against the Coach Godwin Raymond- tutored Bauchi Nets, Gombe Bulls now have five points from three games to temporarily top the Group B table, while we await the result of the Hoops & Read Vs Customs game on going at the Sani Abacha Stadium Indoor Hall. Before the commencement of Day 3, Hoops & Read owned by former NBA star, Olumide Oyedeji, topped Group B table with the maximum 4 points from two games. If they beat Customs after the Day 3 second game, they will retain their place at the top with a possible 6 points. In Group A, Kano Pillars top the table with a maximum 4 points, followed closely by two-times Atlantic Conference champions, Kwara Falcons on 3 points from two games.
