Derby County manager Frank Lampard has been impressed by defender Efe Ambrose in training, with the Nigerian possibly coming in on a free transfer, BSNSports reports.
Lampard has delved into the free agent market, and former Celtic and Hibernian defender Efe Ambrose caught his eye.
Ambrose has been training with the Rams and he could join Derby to provide some much needed defensive cover.
“I have found him very nice, very good, very friendly, so as a character I think he would be great for us anyway,” Lampard said.
Having outline some of the defender’s strengths with a move seemingly moving closer.
“I watched him, I know his strengths. He is a tall defender, very committed, wants to play on the ball, and quick.
It is just about making sure about his level of fitness and that both sides are happy it is going to work.”
It's obvious to see that the Derby
manager is a fan of the defender. With Lampard keen on Ambrose and determined to bring in some much-needed cover, a deal will hopefully be struck soon.
