Law Firm To Sue Shehu Dikko To Court Over Conflict of Interest

Legion of legal consults, a law firm based in Abuja, specializing in international sport law has served the second vice president of the NFF, Shehu Dikko a pre-action notice to explain his connection with Mediterranean Sport Limited, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

According to the pre-action notice, Mediterranean Sports Limited allegedly belong to Shehu Dikko, the company which is appointed and operating as an agent and financial consultants to the Nigeria Football Federation, according to the firm, that is conflicts of interest and violates the Law under the Public Procurement Act, 2007 as entrenched in Nigeria constitution .

It was also alleged that most of the payments made for the services rendered by the said company was paid into the Meditarreanean account and that too led to conflicts of interest as Shehu Dikko is one of the directors in the said company and also the second vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation.

It was also alleged that the General Secretary of the NFF through a letter authorized a company called Financial Derivatives Company Limited (a company officially consulting for Nigeria Football Federation) to pay monies into Mediterranean Sport Limited's account.

Based on the above allegations which contradict Public Procurement Act, 2007 and Company Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2007, the legal firm hereby requested that Shehu Dikko furnish the firm with his side of the information in accordance with the provision of Freedom of Information Act, 2011.

Legions of Legal Consults also requested for empirical explanation on the letters authorized by the Secretary General of the NFF, Dr Muhammed Sanusi to always pay certain percentage to Mediterranean Sport Limited Company as official agent to NFF and also seek clarification on the resolution of Mediterranean Sport Company that supposedly passed to remove one Audu Kabir and Shehu Dikko as directors on 31st of March, 2014 which was not submitted and verified by the Corporate Affair Commission until 8th May, 2018 as against fifteen (15) days stipulated by Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2007 for such resolution to be submitted and verified.

The legal firm however, gave the Chairman, League Management Company, LMC, Shehu Dikko seven days ultimatum to make available the information that was requested and failure to do so, Shehu Dikko will be charged to court.
