League Resumption Not In Our Hands - NFF

The Second Vice-President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Malam Shehu Dikko said the Government, FIFA and CAF calendars will determine when the suspension on football activities will resume, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Dikko who doubles as Chairman, League Management Company, LMC, made this known on Friday while speaking with BSN Sports at the unveiling of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

"League resumption is not in our hands, all over the world, it is a collaboration between the federation and Government. The health authority will determine when it is healthy to resume." Dikko told BSN Sports.

He insisted that health of Nigerians should be paramount and be considered adding that it will be unhealthy to return the game will return when the number of Covid-19 patients are rising.

"It is health of the people first and not just about playing football. As you can see the number of Covid-19 patients keeps rising everyday .

"Also, we have to work with the FIFA calendar. CAF has just sent their calendar own hat they want to do and luckily i am part of that meeting. So, we need to wait and see the best to adopt for Nigeria football moving forward." He concluded.
