Balogun to leave Mainz at the end of the season

Bundesliga club, Mainz is unlikely to extend the contract of Nigerian international, Leon Balogun if the club is relegated from the topflight at the end of the season BSN Sports reveals.
The central defender, who joined the club as a free agent, comes off contract at the end of the season, June this year.
German Sports publication, quoting the club's sporting director, Rouven Schrode, who said Mainz would like to extend the contract of Leon Balogun but have to wait until the final game of the season when they would have known their fate.
Three matches to the end of the season, Mainz is outside the relegation zone on goal difference as they have the same number of points 30, as 16th placed placed Freiburg.
Since turning professional, the Super Eagles star had never commanded a transfer fee when switching clubs, joining Turkiyemspor, Hannover 96, Bremen, Fortunal Dussedorf, Darmstadt 98, and Mainz as a free agent.
