As action resumed in the French Lique 1 on Saturday after six months, Girondin Bordeaux started their 2020/21 campaign in a 2-1 defeat to RC Lens, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Super Eagles duo of Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja started the day on the bench as hosts dominated the game.

Ganago opened the scoring in the first stanza before DR Congo international Gael Kakuta added the second goal from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.

Kalu and Maja were introduced in the 81st minute for Oudin and Hwang respectively.

It was Kalu that reduced the deficit in the added time as the game ended 2-1.
