Lille Coach Galtier Defends Osimhen On Failure To Score Away Goal

By Sampson Adedeji

Ahead of the match day 3 of the UEFA champions league, the coach of the French Ligue One side LOSC Lille, Christophe Galtier has stood in defence of Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, despite his failire to score on away ground, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports that Osimhen has netted 7 goals in 10 appearances in the league for the club and a goal in the UEFA champions league but all the goals were converted at home.

The team over the weekend suffered a 2-1 defeat to Toulouse on Saturday away from home and Osimhen fired blank through out the encounter.

Galtier also believed that his failure to record an away goal should be blamed on the entire team as football is a game of collective collective efforts.

“We lose as a team and win as a team. Osimhen is part of the team. Collectively, we will have to do better away from home not just Osimhen. It’s for the entire team,” Gatlier said.

All eyes will again be on Osimhen on Wednesday when Lille play host to Spanish La Liga side Valencia in the UEFA champions league.
