Plateau United fines, banished to Ilorin

Following the unruly behaviour of the fans of former NPFL champions, Plateau United in their 2018/19 NPFL matchday 1 game against Ifeanyi Ubah, the League Management Company, LMC, has fined the Jos based club Three million naira (N3m), BSN Sports reports.

Plateau United fans will not have the opportunity to watch their darling team at the New Jos stadium as the team was also banished to play their next three games in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Plateau United hosted FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the New Jos stadium on Sunday, the game ended goalless and the home crowd encroached the pitch after the regulation time and descended heavily on the match officials.

The League management Company on Tuesday charged the club placed on them series of fines and ban.

The club was fined N1m for not providing adequate security at the match venue.

They will also paid N1m to the four match officials (N250,000 each).

The Jos team will also pay N1m for object throwing onto the pitch.

The next 3 home matches involving the club will take place in Ilorin, according to LMC.

Furthermore, the club should provide the hoodlums who assaulted the match officials within 7 days.

The club was given 48 hours to either accept or appeal the sanctioned melted onto them.
