Lookman start; Ndidi booked; Kelechi Iheanacho unused, as Leicester City & Southampton share spoil

While Wilfred Ndidi lasted the distance, Ademola Lookman and Nathan Tella started and were in action for 61 and 65 minutes respectively for the Foxes and Saints, Kelechi Iheanacho was a non-playing substitute for the third time in four Premier League games. Southampton broke the deadlock inside three minutes when Jan Bednarek turned the ball home from close range, Jonny Evans pounced on the rebound and fired home after Ndidi's shot was saved by goalkeeper McCarthy in the 22nd minute to equalise for the visitors. Che Adams put the Saints back in front in the 34th minute but James Maddison's right-footed finish early in the second half ensured the points were shared. Ndidi was shown a yellow card by referee Robert Jones in the 82nd minute for hauling down Walker-Peters. It's now five defeats in seven for Watford under new boss Claudio Ranieri following their 2-1 loss to table toppers Chelsea at Vicarage Road.
