Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye record an excellent build up performance in the colours of Sparta Rotterdam to lead them to their first win of the season away win at RKC Waalwijk, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 21-year-old had a nightmarish debut in the Eredivisie last weekend after conceding 4 in their loss to Heerenveen but was surprisingly retained for the visit to the Mandemakers Stadium as the visitors sought their first win of the campaign.
After the goalless first half, Lennart Thy gave Sparta Rotterdam the lead in the 59th minute of the match.
Abdou Harroui wrapped up the three points for the visitors with the second in added time.
It was the first win of the campaign for Sparta Rotterdam after eight rounds of matches.
The result took Sparta to 13th on six points in the 18-team Dutch Eredivisie ahead o their next match.
Maduka, who now takes his form to the National team, had a big game rating of 7.6, made 4 saves, 3 of which was from inside the box, and also completed 45% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Okoye is expected to be in goal when the Super Eagles take on the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
