Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez has joined the millions of people canvassing for the African Cup of Nations to be played every four years.

AFCON is being played every 2 years but players mostly Europe based has been canvassing for the competition to be played every four just like UEFA Euro cup.
Mahrez said is not easy to leave ones club for 2 months.
“We should have the African Cup every 4 years in the summer. It was great in Egypt, not too hot.
Having it every 2 years and in the winter is the reason why African football is not respected.
There’s a lot of competition when you leave your club for 2 months," he said.
