Man United 0-2 Man City: Ole's Red Devils beaten by their noisy neighbours

Man
Manchester City dominated Manchester United at Old Trafford to win the Manchester derby by a comfortable margin, BSNSports.com.ng reports. City got off to a good start thanks to Eric Bailly's early own goal, as the United defender redirected Joao Cancelo's cross into his own net. Luke Shaw's sloppy defending allowed Bernardo Silva to prod in the visitors' second just before halftime. City's winning margin could have been even higher if not for a series of saves by United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Stats corner (Opta):

  • Manchester City completed 753 passes in their win over Manchester United - the most any team has completed in a Premier League match against the Red Devils since the 2003-04 season (when Opta began recording pass data).
  • All three of Bernardo Silva's goals against Manchester United for Manchester City have come at Old Trafford, scoring in three of his last four appearances there - he has only netted more goals against Burnley (four) in his time at Man City.
  • Manchester United are now without a clean sheet in their last 14 home games in all competitions - they've only had one longer run in their entire history without a home clean sheet, a 21-game run between April 1958 and March 1959.
  • Eric Bailly is the first Manchester United player to score an own goal in the Manchester derby in the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola's team has moved up to second place in the rankings, closing the gap on leaders Chelsea to two points ahead of Saturday's other matchups. United's fourth defeat in six Premier League games, as well as a second straight loss at home to one of their fiercest rivals, adds to the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
