Former Napoli playmaker passed away midweek after a cardiac arrest which he was unable to survive. FIFA gave the directives on Saturday afternoon as leagues set to commence across Europe. "The flags are at half-mast at the Home of FIFA in tribute to Diego Maradona. FIFA has called upon all competition organisers to hold a minute of silence at every football match this weekend, or at the next possible occasion, in Maradona's honour," the statements reads. A minute silent was also observed on Friday in the CAF champions league final between Al Ahly and Zamalek both of Egypt.
