The women football continued to grow speedily across Africa as Mauritania Football Federation has set up Women National team for the first time in their history and joined the rest of African countries who have Women National Teams. According to the Federation,the qualification of the senior men's team to the 2019 African Cup of Nation engineered the MFF in joining the growing lists of women football across the continent. Mauritania picked the 2019 AFCON tickets for the first time alongside Madagascar at the expense of more established national team like Zambia etc. The newly set up Mauritania women national will now be fully involved in the qualifiers for the 2020 African Women Cup of Nations. The Super Falcons of Nigeria is presently the African champions after they defeated their counterparts from South Africa via penalties.
