MFM FC end Niger Tornadoes unbeaten run By Olawale Quadri Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club ended Niger Tornadoes nine-game unbeaten in Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 20 encounter after claiming a convincing 3-0 win at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium. The hosts made just one change to the team that lost 1-0 to Go Round on Wednesday in Omoku as Abdullahi Suleiman replaced Elom Kenneth in the starting line up. MFM FC began the entertaining match like a house on fire and made the first meaningful impact of the game after 12 minutes of play when Olatunbosun Sikiru gave his team the lead off a well tailored pass from Onuwa Chukwuka. The Olukoya Boys continued their attacking display as they mount the pressure on the the visitors and their effort paid off in the 19th minute of the exchange with Olatunbosun scoring the second goal after a nice tap in  from Lawal Oriyomi's cross. Niger Tornadoes came close to scoring in the 40th minute of the match when Amar Abdulkarim glided past two MFM midfielders to pick out Osondu Jonathan with a reverse pass but the striker's effort was tame. MFM FC goalkeeper, Folarin Abayomi was injured after 11 minutes of action in the second half and he was replaced with Nasamu Emmanuel who later justified his introduction when he denied Tornadoes a chance to reduce the deficit with a fine save off a dipping effort from 20 yards by Mustapha Jibrin. Olatunbosun had a chance to score the third goal on 70 minutes when he raced on to a pass from Onuwa but his effort narrowly missed the target.  MFM FC made another substitution two minutes after Sikiru's attempt on goal and Akinyemi Nojeem was replaced by Akuneto Chijioke.  With only four minutes of coming on, Akuneto put the game beyond the Minna-based team when he blasted his effort to the bottom corner off an assist by Waheed Adebayo. The game ended in a 3-0 triumph for MFM FC. After the victory, the Lagos-based team moved from 11th to 10th spot on log with 27 points from 19 NPFL games. MFM FC will be on the road to Yobe Stars this Wednesday for a Matchday 17 rescheduled fixture.
