Following his deadline day move to Stoke City, Nigeria international, Josh Maja began his campaign on high scoring in just 14 minutes into his debut for the Potters in their FA Cup win over Wigan Athletics, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Maja joined Stoke City on loan from Girondins Bordeaux on Monday and with just few training sessions with the team, be seems to have developed an understanding with his new teammates having perfectly connected with Tyrese Campbell's good work to open the scoring for the Potters.
“Josh took his goal extremely well and I think he linked the play up well. He’s not played a lot of football in the first half of the season so he’ll benefit from the 70-odd minutes he had today, says Stoke City's manager Michael O’Neill.
“That’s what he needs. For him to show what he showed today was a real positive but we still have to build his fitness and get him as many minutes as we can. He’ll improve with that as well,” added Michael O’Neill.
Josh Maja will hope be can rediscover the form that got him into the Super Eagles months back as he progressed in the season with Stoke City.
