Mikel, Babyaro Make Chelsea All-Time African XI

Chelsea Football Club of England is one of the best and biggest club in English Football. It has a traditional of acting like a home away from home to so many African greats.

Currently they have few names from Africa since the exodus of names like Didier Drogba, Solomon Kalu and John Obi Mikel. Names like Edouardo Mendy, Victor Moses who is currently on loan in Inter Milan and other bright youngsters are in their famous academy.

The official website of Chelsea has revealed an official African XI in the wake of Senegal international, Edouard Mendy, becoming the first African goalkeeper to play for The Blues after debuting in a Carabao Cup fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

Two former Nigeria internationals, John Obi Mikel and Celestine Babayaro have been picked in the starting XI comprising ten Chelsea legends.

Chelsea African XI : Mendy; Babayaro, Desailly, Geremi; Makelele, Mikel, Essien, Kalou; Eto'o, Drogba, Weah.
