Mikel clear to face Gaziantep FK

Despite the injury worry former Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder and captain John Mikel Obi has been cleared to play for Trabzonspor on Saturday in the league.

Mikel joined the Turkish Super Lig side after the completion of his one year deal with English championship side Middlesbrough.

The former Chelsea midfielder withdrew from the team training on Monday due to thigh muscle tighting and was unable to return.

The club doctors on Tuesday morning conducted Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan on the player and nothing serious was confirmed.

He was cleared immediately to play for the club on Saturday when the league game resume after the international break.

Trabzonspor will host Gazientep FK on Saturday in the league before playing in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday next week.
